  • September 11, 2017 - Hurricane Irma Update: Hospital Resumes Normal Operations

    The immediate threat of Hurricane Irma and its resulting storm surge has passed. Our hospital has resumed normal operations. We continue to monitor the now-weakened storm as it moves through Georgia and Alabama.

    To our staff who rode out the storm, we offer our deepest appreciation and gratitude. Your dedication exemplifies our shared values of teamwork and patient-centered care.

    April 20, 2016 - SSH – Tallahassee Earns Quality Achievement Award
    Select Specialty Hospital – Tallahassee received the Quality Achievement Award during the 18th Annual CEO and Medical Director Conference for the long-term-acute care hospital (LTACH) division of Select Medical. Awarded by the Quality of Care and Patient Safety Committee of the Board of Directors of Select Medical, this award recognizes the Select Medical hospitals whose quality and infection quality measures are better than the CDC benchmarks.
    April 02, 2014 - SSH - Tallahassee Named a Hospital of Excellence
    Select Specialty Hospital - Tallahassee received the Hospital of Excellence Award at Select Medical's annual conference. This award recognizes hospital teams who have met all the clinical quality and operational criteria set through an intense and comprehensive application and survey process. This is the third consecutive year the SSH - Tallahassee team has won this award.
    July 24, 2013 - SSH - Tallahassee Receives Top Awards at National Meeting

    Select Medical Corporation today announced that Select Specialty Hospital – Tallahassee won five awards at the 2013 Select Medical Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Hospital Division’s annual conference in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.  Select – Tallahassee won The Employee Engagement Award, the Quality Achievement Award, the ICare Award and the Hospital of Excellence Award.  In addition, CEO Lora Davis won the Leadership Award.

     

    These awards recognize the hospitals that maintain the highest standards of clinical and operational excellence along with employee workplace enthusiasm, passion and commitments a result of a rigorous, onsite validation survey. “An award such as this sends a very strong message to our patients, their families and all of the medical professionals we work with that we deliver excellence.”

     

    “We are truly honored to be recognized by our peers and to receive these awards, as they represent the highest standards of care, staff competency and overall employee engagement,” said Clifton J. Bailey, MD, Medical Director of Select Specialty Hospital – Tallahassee. The 29 bed hospital is located at 1554 Surgeons Drive, Tallahassee, FL and is the only long term acute care hospital in the greater Tallahassee area.

     

    Lora Davis, CEO of SSH-Tallahassee received the Leadership award.  Ms. Davis, has served as the hospital’s CEO since  2008.   This award is given to the CEO with consistent leadership over time, and a demonstrated commitment to operational and clinical excellence.

    April 12, 2013 - SSH - Tallahassee Receives Awards for Clinical Quality and Employee Satisfaction
    At Select Medical's national conference, Select Specialty Hospital - Tallahassee was awarded the Quality Achievement Award for its consistently outstanding clinical outcomes and quality measures.  The hospital was also awarded the Employee Engagement Award for exceptional scores and participation rates on its annual employee satisfaction survey.
    April 01, 2013 - AARC Names SSH - Tallahassee Quality Respiratory Care Institute
    SSH - Tallahassee has earned the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) for 2013 under a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of respiratory care services available in hospitals.  This program was started by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) to help consumers identify those facilities using qualified respiratory therapists to provide respiratory care.  Hospitals earning the QRCR designation ensure patient safety by agreeing to adhere to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services.  SSH - Tallahassee also received this designation in 2011 and 2012.
